6. I've flown to the West Coast twice, Arizona to see my grandmother and once to California

And I flew to NC to see my grandmother numerous times after she retired there. My first few flights were with my parents to see her when she spent winters in Florida.

And I've flown overseas three times, to Ireland twice, and the flight to Finland was with my grandmother because she joined a peace group which had a "sister town" in the USSR. We flew from New York to Finland since at the time Soviet planes weren't allowed to land in the U.S. And the flight from Helsinki to Moscow was the worst I've ever experienced, broken seats and they passed out this orange drink that you see all over Russia. We were supposed to go by train inside Russia, but that was canceled and we flew from Sochi (the nearest city to our "sister town" 2 1/2 hours up in the Caucasus Mountains) to what was then Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). And that was the nicest flight I've ever taken, beautiful new plane which was humidity controlled. It really was the trip of a lifetime and I loved the other members of the group, most decades older than I was, but I'm almost grateful that I'll never have to do it again.

Both my Dad and my grandmother were world travelers. I haven't flown since before 9/11.
