What would my grandparents think? Both of my grandfathers fought in WWI. My paternal grandfather was the son of Irish immigrants and both he and his closest brother signed up together. My grandfather brought ammunition to the front on horseback and my great uncle fought at the front and survived a battle and was awarded the Silver Star. My maternal grandfather came to this country from Poland as a young man, they made him a citizen and sent him to France to fight for his new country. That took courage, wish I'd met them.
