I live in an over 55 community, and I'm one of the 'youngsters.' It's the folks in their eighties and nineties that I'm really concerned about.
We have quite the social scene in here. Parties going on all the time, Social Clubs, exercise sessions, you name it. And I was hoping someone would finally figure out that they have to cancel all of this until we get the all-clear.
Today someone finally took the lead, and canceled a rather large function that they do every year to honor the residents who are 80 years and up. It's a beautiful luncheon, free to the people who are being celebrated. And they realized this is stupid. We can't do this right now. So it was canceled. Hopefully other groups will follow suit. The tennis club even canceled their potluck for this evening. Yay. It's a start. Especially when this place has more Republicans than Democrats in it. It's hard to convince them that this is not a hoax.
It's sad to say, it's horrible to say, but it's going to take the death of one of the Republicans in here, by way of Coronavirus, before they really start paying attention.

primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
