so I don't make any proclamations about him as Mayor. I don't need to approve of him as mayor to welcome some money that counters the NRA. I'm not going to marry the guy. I have never understood this idea that someone needs to be an icon or virtue to approve of anything they do.

91% of Americas favor expanded background checks. I am shocked that any Democrat here would oppose them, but then I don't think Democrats really do.
