hey girl, when my English brother visited me here in Texas, at a restaurant first he was confused why they brought the salad first without the meal (I have no clue why they do that), then when he picked up a salt shaker and looked at it closely and asked what was in there with the salt, I casually replied, oh those are ROACH EGGS. He absolutely blanched and I laughed and said, naw, it's uncooked rice, they put that in there to soak up any moisture (in the humid climate), to keep the salt shake-able
