It's one of the concerns with using NG as a fuel - fluctuations in cost.

Plus the expansion in exports via new CNG terminals coming online sure doesn't help.

Utilities normally buy NG w long term contracts, buying what they project they will need. But if the weather is colder than normal, they will have to buy on the spot market. Speculators will have bid up the price and we get the bill.

My utility bill has 6 lines of cost for NG.
