For example, searching on Amazon for your type would be my first option. You often find third party components that are cheaper than the original. Even though you could get unlucky, I haven't had problems so far with products that had many, many good reviews.

Beware from ordering from online shops you don't know or at least check for independent customer experiences. That saved me. I was recently looking around for batteries and only learnt how many fraud shops there are. Even with promised paypal protection, they'll trick you into doing things that'll void those protections.

Maybe members here could help you more if you'd name the exact model of your laptop and the specifications of the battery.
