Bonnie Watson Coleman endorses Jim McGreevey (D) for Jersey City mayor

1. I have no dog to hunt in Jersey City. Watson Coleman is my Congessperson and I support her.

She's not Rush Holt but then again no one really is. (In my long life I have never been as proud of a Congress person as I was of Holt.)

This said the issue with McGreevy of course, is not that he is gay. The issue is that he appointed a person to a highly paid job for which he was not qualified for reasons having to do with his romantic desires.

I of course voted for McGreevy for governor just as I voted twice for Bill Clinton. I do wish that our pecadillo politicians would not sully their reputations by engaging in sexual pecadilloes.

I note that the outstanding ex Senator Al Franken, who I miss and whose departure was a loss to our country was brought down by far less than what McGreevy or Clinton did.

I anticipate the legitimate argument that Repukes are far far far worse, but the argument that being better than the worst should not hold water. The best course is to beyond reproach.
