3. We used to do that to feed our family.

We would butcher a hog sometimes, or share beef with another family. There used to be more pheasant around here, and we could get one of those once in a while.

Times are better for us now. But having the venison was a godsend for us at times in the past.

I saw three deer tonight when my husband and I were out just after dark. It was nice to see them running around.
