2. Nothing like the breathtaking Hanalei bay on Kauai's north shore.

The 2-mile beach is a beautiful golden crescent with the amazing Princeville resort on one end and the soaring pinnacles of the mountains as they descend into the sea on the other. Just sit on the beach and people watch. There's even hammocks tied off to palm trees you can commandeer in front of the Princeville hotel. Watch the surfers paddle out past the reef as the sun sets over the mountains over the other end of Hanalei bay. This was where they filmed South Pacific, and it is obvious why. There is no more beautiful place on God's green earth.

p.s. Hanalei is a little old hippy town, now more new age/hipster, nestled in the center of the bay with lots of restaurants and funky coffee shops and bars. Definitely a good place to try different types of food.

p.p.s. Take me with you!!!
