"Driftwood Lounging" - Bandon Beach, Oregon - June 2025 [View all]

The caption is a dig at the ubiquitous and mundane name of coastal bars almost anywhere there might be a wee bit of water. On my drive back home to Carolina from Idaho in September, I ate at a bar & grill in Ogallala, Nebraska, called "The Driftwood." It should have been called "Ogallala Steakhouse," because it had the best steak I have had in years. But I guess McConaughy Lake on the North Platte River is enough water to justify the restaurant name .. Driftwood.
