with different color inflorescences. They do well in zone 9b and south, although if the tops freeze they might not flower the next year. Also they may struggle in the 7 months of drought which can occur in South Florida, especially if the soil is pure sand. The inflorescence makes a long lasting cut flower, although it has no fragrance. Shampoo ginger is a relative which produces a liquid used in shampoos.
