6. Autocracies attempt to limit words

As the post says, we have a multitude of words to describe out present situation. This abundance of words helps us to think and discuss - and, of course, to criticize and mock. So, naturally, diversity of words is anathema to autocracy, and dictators try to limit them. Words like 'climate crisis' and 'identity', and many others, are now banned from use in official government documents. The aim is to limit our thinking. If the words 'climate crisis' are banned, it becomes difficult to talk about it. I can imagine that more and more words that might be used to criticize the current regime will be banned from social media.
