…(pediatric NP) to be able to ask about gun safety in the home when doing well child visits. Fuck them. I not only asked about the families’ own homes, I advised parents to have a conversation with the parents of their kids’ friends about safety in their homes, and said that is a parent was not even willing to discuss it, have those kids come to your house, not vice versa. I told them to preface the conversation with, “Our pediatric office advised me to ask…”. The look of shock on parents’ faces when I suggested that was something to behold, and they would often say, “Oh my gawd, I never thought about that.”

Trigger locks that are linked to fingerprints seem like such a good idea.

These infuriating deaths are totally preventable.
