I'm reading Father Richard Rohr's The Tears of Everything with my book club right now, all about the prophets and the important role they have played throughout the Bible and history.

One of my favorite verses for these times:

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
(Isaiah 5:20)

Another one I hang onto is "Acquitting the guilty and condemning the righteous—both are detestable to the LORD."
(Proverbs 17:15)
