Let's talk about Hegseth and Trump in Epic Fury and Epic Failure..... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump and Hegseth in Epic Fury and Epic Failure.

Trump wrote two letters. One to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senator Chuck Grassley before the 60-day deadline for his Iran campaign to end. The key message was simple. "The hostilities that began on February 28th, 2026 have terminated."

I know you're thinking, "But there's active hostilities now. There's incoming fire. Therefore, the ceasefire has to be over." No, no, no. You must reject the evidence of your eyes and ears and trust the party. Secretary of Defense Hegseth said, “The ceasefire is not over. See, you're wrong. Trust Big Brother."

He went on to explain how Project Freedom is different than Epic Fury. “Ultimately this is a separate distinct project and we expected there would be some churn at the beginning which happened and we said we would defend and defend aggressively and we absolutely have.

So see they changed the name therefore it's different. Epic Fury is over and your chocolate ration will be increased to 20 grams.

Now, I know some people who haven't yet learned to love Big Brother will want to compare the stated objectives of Operation Epic Fury to the current state of play to see whether or not it was a success. Secretary of Defense Hegseth said, "The mission of Operation Epic Fury is laser focused. Destroy Iranian offensive missiles. Destroy Iranian missile production. Destroy their navy and other security infrastructure and they will never have nuclear weapons.”

One at a time.

Destroy Iranian offensive missiles. The UAE said that wasn't accomplished since they've been hit by Iranian offensive missiles after the end of Epic Fury.

Destroy Iranian missile production. While the US did hit some production facilities, Iran's designs are made to be built with very little infrastructure. Destruction of production capability did not occur because the facilities are easily brought back online in different locations.

Destroy their navy and other security infrastructure. Most of their fleet was sunk, but that's not their navy or their naval power. The fact that they maintain naval power is the whole reason for Project Freedom. Ships sunk does not equate to destruction of naval power. That kind of thinking is why this whole thing has looked like amateur hour.

They will never have nuclear weapons. Iran has repeatedly said they weren't building nuclear weapons, which was supported by US intelligence. Trump didn't believe them and wanted them to turn over their enriched uranium and sign a deal promising to not make nukes forever and ever. Neither of those things happened.

I know some of you will want to add regime change, cutting off proxies, and opening the strait because Trump or Hegseth said those things at various times. The regime is still in power. The proxies are more closely aligned than ever. Iran's even demanding a ceasefire for one of their aligned non-state actors as a peace condition. And the strait isn't open.

By their own stated goals, the Trump administration failed to accomplish a single objective in the unnecessary elective war. All of that ordnance expended, all of the damage to US reputation and facilities, all of those lives disrupted and lost and not a single objective was actually completed anywhere outside of memes.

Trump and Hegseth keep saying they want to make a deal. I have yet to find a single foreign policy person that believes this will result in a better deal than the one Trump wouldn't honor and trashed while promising he could get a better one.
