OP
I have to agree, I've been in AA for over 16 years. Hegseth needs immediate help, not a job that affects thousands.

He should follow the example of Hunter Biden, whom they defamed so much, and deal with his addiction

I don't believe that Hegseth has taken that first step, admitting that he has a problem.

(39,823 posts)3. Well, I quit drinking in 1994. But I had pretty much drunk up my share by then.

And I've learned that it does run in families. I've often thought that Hegseth needed to be sent to rehab, not given the Pentagon's top job. Drinkers like him can't just stop immediately without help - plus it's dangerous and few succeed on their own.
