2. That's not the worst part. It throws away everything you typed so if you just finished writing

the best short story ever for D.U., it is all gone and you have to remember it all over and then type it on your small phone where your fingers are bigger than any two characters so you are constantly backspacing.

...I generally copy my longer elaborate posts into my word processor (MS Word).

I've been dinged by copy and paste text containing the mathematical symbol for "less than." It deletes all the text that follows which is lost.

It does allow for superscripts and subscripts but one needs to use "find and replace" functions in the word processor to make it work.

The DU editor does not like mathematical symbols, in particular Greek letters which produce the ? symbol. I think this was not the case years ago, but it is the case now. Recently I realized it will work with French accents and text. It does seem that this was not the case at another time.

I use a browser extension called GhostText that mirrors my typing in a text editor. Only the title is lost in a hangup (So I add it to the text)

This is techie stuff, for desktops. Not easy to set up.

Otherwise, I copy my typing to Apple Notes ( Any text editor will do) before risking the Preview or Post button on serious or long posts. Serious means many references to retrieve.

These glitches are beyond our control, so practice "defensive posting" on longish posts.

Good Luck.

4. Before posting or even before previewing, I do a quick Control-A Control-C to select all and copy to clipboard

then if something goes awry during preview or posting, I can always* get it back with Control-V for paste.

*(Unless the computer itself glitches up so that I have to reboot which wipes out the clipboard).

For longer posts, at some point, I do a control-V paste into my ever-present Notepad text file, and then I do further editing there...

This on a desktop computer. I haven't posted from my phone for years.

5. I'm dealing with the same problem.

I have tried using different browsers, clearing caches, signing in again, and going incognito, but none of those have worked.

I had posted shortly before and had no problems.

I've tried logging out and then back in, and I've tried to post after shutting down and restarting the following day.

Yesterday, even post previews got the error message. Today, previews work, but posts still get shut down.

Anything? Anybody?
