a pathetic man
a pathetic man
set alone amidst the shambles sifting through the rubble
while pretending to be whole feet firmly on the ground
lost thoughts of scrambles the edge of a bursting bubble
counting out coins for the toll sink deeper until drowned
what has been stolen lost or has simply been misplaced
empty hands an empty heart tingling without a memory
each line that has been crossed every danger once faced
added together from the start clotted curdled simmering
if the screams are loud enough the cries are sad enough
to expect an automatic gesture of the human sympathy
outwardly shown proud and gruff yet full of terrible stuff
with a slippery slimy texture and a lack of any empathy
alone and wallowing in self pity looking for the kindness
filled in envy hate infidelity and a self inflicted blindness
