upon feeling the final breaths of angels to the soul
feathers flutter and glow still each moment added
to a memory that blessed warmth against the cold
covering bursts of sorrow forms vapid and placid
whence the demons arose the life is now forgiven
hearts carry such burdens yet gradually they shed
allow evil memory to close healing that once riven
stories told in dense versions all simplified instead
stillness belies the energy which once flowed free
closing eyes to not awaken closed lips never speak
leave the arts for lethargy as silent symphonies flee
portraits stare forsaken as all songs are sung bleak
a writer at a loss of words ponders the blank page
penning a funeral dirge while god’s tempests rage
