between the beginning and the ending exists a lie
the passage of time life and death all intermingled
as understanding unwilling to listen to a ghost cry
test the sharpness a knife the shining point tingles
to step back and to efface spirits leaving a shadow
the lost heart the lost hope singing in muted tones
allowing another to replace a mind thought callow
held back in the dark to grope amongst the bones
once seen and forgotten fading from color to gray
time sweeps across love wind within barren trees
rich garments lying rotten sullen with lust’s decay
no gentle touch of above a fetid scent on a breeze
memory telling cruel lies eyes to see a world blind
wearing the dread disguise evil pretends to be kind
