Martini's veterinary appointment today.

Since my vet's office will cancel your appointment if you're more than five minutes late, I made sure to get there at 2:50, only to find out that our appointment was at 3:30, not 3:00! The reminder they sent me said 3:30 and my calendar said 3:30, but for some reason, I thought it was at 3:00! Anyway, her blood pressure is normal (!); she's gained a couple of ounces (!); still has a heart murmur; but the kidney has gotten a little bigger (that's where the spot is). The vet gave her a senior workup; bloodwork; and checked her blood pressure. They want to monitor her every six months. I just finished paying off both cats' last vet appointments from last year 12 days ago, but what price do I put on their health?

When the vet tech brought her back to me, she said Martini is such a good girl (tell me something I don't know!) and she wished every cat was just like her (MY kitty!). She's always been pretty laid back, more of a go-with-the-flow kind of cat (except when I try to give her her medicine or put her in the crate, of course).

Tomorrow, I will get a call about her bloodwork and I know the drill: if a member of the staff calls, everything's okay and if the doctor calls, there's something wrong. Fingers crossed, it's the staff.

They don’t speak, but they sure as hell do communicate don’t they?
