Your ideas - - I have a concoction I prepare and take to picnics.

Sliced tomato, topped wth mozzarella, pickled ginger and fresh basil. I add balsamic and oil at the site. The tray of about 20 slices disappears in 5 minutes.

The problem. The sliced tomato is a carrier for the other three but it is difficult to manage. Crackers would get soggy.

Do you guys have any ideas about a replacement carrier instead of the tomato slices?

Or a tortilla (spinach or red pepper If you want more color). Then layer, roll, and slice into rounds? But I'm not sure how you would keep the tortilla outer layer from coming loose.

Sounds wonderful - like a caprese salad, yet with added ginger.
