I tried a couple new tricks with spaghetti and ragu sauce. I wanted something simple because it's planting season and I'm so busy.
This spaghetti with Ragu sauce turned out to be the best I've ever made. Here's what I did differently:
--used VeggieCraft spaghetti. It's made with zucchini, pea, and lentil flour. Very tasty!
---I made Marcella Hazan's famous easy spaghetti sauce. It's easy because it's 3 ingredients: chopped tomatoes (canned), 5 T butter, and a half an onion just cut in two Simmer for 45". I've heard rave things about this sauce, but had never tried it. Today was the day!
I'd already cooked the ground beef a few days ago, so no need to spend time on that. I just put some in toward the end of the cooking time and it worked out. Added Parmesan over the top (I'd grated a day ago, too),
I also made a tossed salad with red tip, spinach, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, Persian cuke, and green pepper. Thousand Island dressng and tortilla strips as crunchies.
Kombucha (tangerine) to drink.
Hot chocolate later.
