Jay Kelly (Netflix) -- a film for grown-ups

Rotten Tomatoes: The new film from Academy Award nominee Noah Baumbach follows famous movie actor Jay Kelly (George Clooney) and his devoted manager Ron (Adam Sandler) as they embark on a whirlwind and unexpectedly profound journey through Europe. Along the way, both men are forced to confront the choices they've made, the relationships with their loved ones, and the legacies they'll leave behind.

Very well done. Young 'uns might not quite get it, which could explain harsher critique on social media platforms like IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Adam Sandler, not usually considered for serious acting roles, gives a stellar performance.

Clooney is perfect.

"One of the great, defining roles of George Clooney’s career." -- Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle

I usually do this with films I really like. And One Battle After Another, with Leonardo DiCaprio. I don't think it's streaming yet. It's a spectacular film.

I was lucky to see it in a theater. It rocks on a big screen.

ironically, the character he plays is driven to irritation by his client. I'm not a Sandler fan, and while admittedly disappointed to see him listed among the cast, was surprised by how well he performed in the role.

I generally try to avoid films he's in. But once in a while he does surprise me.
