I am going on March 5 for spinal surgery. The pain

Has moved into my hip and I get shooting stabbing pains. The problem I’m having right today is I can’t even put the slightest amount of weight on it without getting the stabbing pains and I’m pretty much by myself here although I do have somebody staying here but she has been such a bitch She gets mad at the slightest things and storms off to her side of the house. She is just staying here for free and is supposed to help me.

What I’m wondering now is if anybody knows of a bandage or something that could help me walk at least to the kitchen and back into the bathroom and back. I have a cane and I’m using dad but that’s not enough.

I am taking Norco, which is Vicodin intense and I’m spraying Biofreeze on it regularly

Oh I also have a few of those wine thingies that look like milk cartons. I am just sipping on them, but they do seem to take the edge off a little.

Maybe you can make arrangements through your insurance and other home health services for someone else to either stay with you or check in on you. If you have a church affiliation maybe they have someone who can assist you...Please stay safe and know others on DU are thinking of you...

but my serious back pain was relieved by reading Dr. John Sarno's "Healing Back Pain". And following it's advice, of course.
It's a quick read and you have time before your surgery; it can't hurt.

CBD oil for the pain? Maybe your doctor's office can suggest a home health aid or direct you to a service provider.

I got a "Cordless heating pad for back pain relief" from Amazon. It wraps around and fastens with Velcro, which provides some support. It also vibrates, which isn't much help. I also use a cane, either correctly at my side, or incorrectly by moving it along in front of me, like a one-legged walker, when I need additional support. My pain is very minor compared to what you are experiencing, so I don't know if these small suggestions can help. I hope you get some relief soon.

Somewhere in the middle of the night, I decided to start stretching the groin muscles in that hip area and I think that it is actually helping I’m able to walk a little bit better. I also find that if I use the cane in one hand and then grab onto a door handle or something like that it makes it a lot easier so I’ve been doing that. I’m going to get some other type of cane/pole type thing and that should make it allot easier. At least there seems to be an end to this horrible tunnel.

I am glad I have friends who care.
