Ben-Gvir Praises Far-right Activist Behind 'Death Prayer' for ex-PM Rabin Before Assassination

At the bar mitzvah of the son of a far-right activist known for organizing a Kabbalistic ceremony that condemned then-Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin to death prior to his assassination, the national security minister said the activist is 'synonymous with devotion'

Eskin was a very prominent far-right activist, including during the time of the Oslo Accords. In 1979, he was imprisoned for damaging the property of two Palestinian families in Hebron, and he was later active in Meir Kahane's Kach movement. In 2001, he was sentenced to 30 months in prison for involvement in the placing of a pig's head in the Muslim cemetery and for his involvement in soliciting an activist to torch the offices of Dor Shalem Doresh Shalom [A Whole Generation Demands Peace] in Jerusalem. After his release, he appeared frequently in Russian media.

Eskin and Ben-Gvir were detained and arrested for various far-right activities, and both were active in trying to secure the release of Rabin's assassin, Yigal Amir. In 2005, they were detained after Haaretz reported that they "attempted to forcibly enter the Temple Mount". In 2008, they were arrested during a demonstration in front of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel.

Ben-Gvir argued before the High Court of Justice in 2023 that he had "changed his ways" and no longer identified with [Meir] Kahane. Nonetheless, one of his close advisors was a student of the late Kach leader, Lehava chairman Bentzi Gopstein, who was recently convicted of incitement to terrorism.

Ben Gvir personally went to Kahane's grave in a Jerusalem cemetery on the anniversary of his death, and makes sure to attend celebrations at the Ha'Raayon Hayehudi [The Jewish Idea] Yeshiva that Kahane founded and where the curtain over the Ark of the Covenant has an inscription praising the murderer Baruch Goldstein.

Far-right researcher says ex-chief justice’s body should be burned when he dies, later deletes post

3 June 2025

Far-right former intelligence analyst Eliyahu Yosian says former Supreme Court president Aharon Barak’s body should be burned upon his death, and that he should not be buried in Israel.

Yosian, who now conducts research and lectures on Iran and the Islamic Revolution, deletes the X post shortly after drawing backlash on social media.

“Good morning to the Jewish nation,” Yosian wrote on X, along with a picture of Barak in a wheelchair. “He cannot have a grave in the State of Israel. This is a desecration of the people of Israel, the land of Israel, and the State of Israel. This is a desecration of the Jewish state. His body must be burned in this world and his soul in the next,” he wrote.

Barak has long been reviled by many on the hard right for his activist approach during his tenure. The Netanyahu government’s judicial overhaul plan is aimed at sidelining the powers assumed by Israel’s highest court during his time as chief justice, and the retired judge has been vocally critical of the effort.

Yosian’s calls to kill “at least 50,000 Gazans” in the days immediately after the October 7, 2023, massacre drew attention in Israel.

And why ???

Ex-Supreme Court chief Aharon Barak says he fears Israel headed to civil war

‘The rift in the people is immense, with no effort made to heal it,’ jurist says, adding that if he were still chief justice, he would block PM’s dismissal of Shin Bet chief, AG

Israel’s most revered jurist, former Supreme Court president Aharon Barak, said in multiple interviews Thursday that he fears the government’s latest actions, including moves to fire the Shin Bet chief and attorney general, are pushing the country toward civil war.

Speaking to the Ynet news site shortly before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened the cabinet to vote on firing Bar, Barak said that “the main problem in Israeli society is… the severe rift between Israelis.”

“This rift is getting worse and in the end, I fear, it will be like a train that goes off the tracks and plunges into a chasm, causing a civil war,” he said.

In another interview, with Channel 12, when asked why he thinks Israel is close to civil conflict, Barak said it is “because the rift in the people is immense, and no effort is being made to heal it. Everyone is trying to make it worse.

“Today there are demonstrations, then a car drives through them and runs over someone,” he said, referring to an incident at an anti-Netanyahu protest in Jerusalem on Wednesday when a driver rammed into a protester, injuring him.

“But tomorrow there will be shootings, and the day after that there will be bloodshed,” Barak continued.

Lets not forget the recent death threats towards yet another leader of Avoda Yair Golan and the violence on the streets
towards the demonstrator's protesting this government by right wing mobs .

like Ben Gvir should be banned from holding office in Israel. Complete BS that he, and others like him, are allowed to run, and hold office.
