Why African Borderlands Keep Burning

The permeability of Africa's borders seems to be the reason behind the perpetual history of violence. Given that these borders are often weakly held from an infrastructure perspective by their host nation, it's very easy for armed actors to exploit this by slipping into neighboring territory. The solution is not a top-down attempt by former colonial (or US powers) to address this, but to find a way to develop an international coalition of African states.
