Not mine - this is from my sister who lives in Queensland. She opened her door to be greeted with a nocturnal scrub python paying a visit. She gave him a scratch on the belly, he hung around for a while then took off.
They are usually found quite far north, but severe flooding in Queensland has driven all sorts of critters further south, looking for dry land.

Is on a slab, ground level entry. She has to put up a snake barrier when the door is left open! I've seen it - visiting years ago, a green tree snake came in one window, inspected the kitchen and left by another window.

Isn't it magnificent? I looked up more info on scrub pythons - we don't have them down south. Biggest snake in Oz, regularly kills and eats wallabies etc. Now my sister is a tiny, skinny little thing.... see where I'm going with this?
Luckily neither of us are uncomfortable with snakes or lizards.
