Everett Herald to relocate to smaller space in wake of layoffs last year
The Daily Herald of Everett plans to downsize its footprint by moving to a smaller building downtown, according to CBRE's first quarter office market report.
The newspaper is owned by Sound Publishing Inc., which currently occupies 15,900 square feet in the 1800 Forty First building. The Herald’s publisher, Carrie Radcliff, confirmed in an email Thursday that a lease has been signed and staff would move to an office at 2500 Hewitt Ave. She declined comment on lease specifics.
The move-out date has not been set. Radcliff said Sound Publishing is waiting for the city to approve its permit request.
Records show a filing for a commercial alteration was submitted on behalf of Sound Publishing in January for the addition of four new offices in a 3,400-square-foot suite. Radcliff said the plan is to build a conference room and also add key-card entry to the office.
