May election set to cost city of Fort Worth nearly $250,000

The upcoming general election in Fort Worth will cost the city more than $247,000.

During the April 8 city council meeting, an agreement and contract for election services with Tarrant County Election Administrator office was finalized for the May 3 election.

Council approved an advanced payment of a 75% deposit, or $185,957, during the meeting. The estimated final cost is $247,943 with a maximum cost of $309,929, according to city documents.

The purpose of the election is electing a mayor and council members for all 10 of the city's districts, including a contested race in northeast Fort Worth for District 4, according to city documents.
