Edison Mayor Sam Joshi (D) Wins Primary Election, Will Face Off Against Gloria Dittman (R) in November
EDISON, NJ - With all districts reporting, Mayor Sam Joshi has been nominated to run for re-election on the Democratic ticket. The Mayor will face off against Republican nominee Gloria Dittman in the general election in November.
According to the county, Mayor Joshi received 8,717 votes in the primary election, 67.7% of the votes in Edison. Leading behind were Lav Patel with 2,245 votes (17.44%) and Councilman Richard Brescher with 1,893 votes (14.7%).
Gloria Dittman, the former president of the Edison Arts Society, ran unopposed for the nomination. She received 2,103 votes, according to the county.
The Democratic nominees for the Township Council are Biral Patel with 6,956 votes, Kelli Dima with 6,882 votes, and Robert J. Kentos with 6,815 votes. The three nominees were endorsed by Mayor Joshi. All the nominees, including Joshi, have been endorsed by the Middlesex County Democratic Organization.
