Related: About this forumI was amazed, but Leavenworth isn't doing anything for No Kings Day.
It's probably because its the Army's birthday, and they no doubt have much of the city tied up in celebrations of that. Anyway, I doubted my ability to drive Topeka so I picked one of the cities we used to live in... Lenexa, in Johnson County. Hubs and I are going to both the rally at Sar-ko-Par Park and then walking (hopefully) down to Maurer Road and 87th street for their rally.
Was wondering if there was anyone in the area who is planning on hitting this rally? Would love to meet up with local DU'ers! Especially if you've been at the Park before at rallies. Have no idea how many people we're looking at attending.
Here's hoping for millions of people on the streets all across the country -- everywhere EXCEPT D.C.! Let there be no doubt in trumps mind that all these people are rooting against him... NOT for him!

(34,713 posts)that is close to where we live. These rallies have been doing well here, I never really thought they would be this crowded. Have fun!

(5,761 posts)But would you guess I've never driven to Topeka?! lol At least I know my way to Lenexa... and the car probably has the route auto-memorized, as that was my daily route to and from work for nearly 2 decades before moved to LV.
I'm hoping there's a large turnout in Lenexa... the more people, the more energy. I'd like to store up that energy and bring it back home with me. Someone earlier mentioned about finding voodoo dolls... pump it full of that energy and then stick pins in it! (gryn) I think it'll be fun with a lot of people. I'd always considered JoCo as mostly Republicans because everyone seemed so rich to me. But then I started worked at the Central Resource Library and discovered just how many people were on the different charities in JoCo. Put a whole different spin to the county to me.
Have fun in Topeka. Maybe one of these rallies we'll meet up together! Stay safe!
