Ind. Sec. of State announces new electronic system for overseas, military voters

INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the office of Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales recently announced the launch of a new system aimed at helping Indiana residents who are in the military and overseas to participate in elections.

According to a news release, the Indiana Secretary of State’s office, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense, launched a “highly secure, comprehensive web application… for eligible overseas and military voters.” This application will help those individuals:

- Apply to vote absentee
- Receive, return and track ballots
- Communicate with county elections offices

Officials said that the new system “provides a secure, accessible, convenient and compliant electronic ballot delivery for military and overseas voters” under the federal Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, along with voters with print disabilities, while also “maintaining the security and integrity of Indiana’s election process.”
