Bibb County polling place relocated for special election due to burst pipe, officials say
MACON, Ga. A polling place in Macon-Bibb Countys upcoming Special Primary Election has been relocated, according to a post from the Macon-Bibb County Facebook account.
The post says an emergency at Porterfield Baptist Church - the Rutland 2 polling place - will force Macon-Bibb County to relocate that polling place for the special election. Voters assigned to the Rutland 2 precinct will now be voting at a polling location at the Mikado Baptist Church at 6751 Houston Road.
The emergency at Portfield Baptist Church was confirmed to be a burst pipe, according to Macon-Bibb County manager Chris Floore. Floore did not say when Porterfield Baptist Church repairs would be finished.
This temporary polling place change will affect the special election for the Public Service Commission District Races on Tuesday, June 17. If necessary, the Special Primary Runoff Election is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, and will also follow the newly-relocated polling locations.
