When should we across the nation learn results of California Primaries?

Let me say up front, I don't listen to cable news or CBS ...trying to find balance out of chaos this way.... I live in Ohio ....

I have not seen anything here yet on DU nor thru a Google search.....Curious as to why its so slow???

7. California insures that ALL votes are counted. They allow a mail-in ballot up to 7 days

to be received and counted after election as long as they are post marked on election day.

Of course now that the autoratative regime of the current administration is trying to get the compromised supreme court to disallow that, it is probably prudent that mail-in voters who have mailed in there ballot to hand carry it to the nearest polling office or drop off place.

Also, not one should underestimate the danger that maga hilton actually poses. California has done some pretty crazy things with regard to pseudo cellebrities. They recalled Grey Davis because of their inane low standard for a recall, and elected arnold schwarzenegger, who not only drove our state into more debt, buut pushed for the insane jungle primary we have now.

I really hope the Becerra and Steyer end up being the two top candidates. We have over 60 candidate for governor in this insane race, and it is way past time to get rid of the jungle primary.

8. First results should be released shortly after 8 pm PDT

The registrar of voters in California counties should be releasing the first results from the mail-in ballots returned before today. I received a phone call and a text from the Secretary of State saying my ballot, which I dropped off on Saturday, was processed and accepted.

I used to work the polls as a precinct inspector, the one in charge of an individual polling site, and although the polls close at 8 pm it took us about 45 minutes to afterwards to pack everything up and do the paperwork before we delivered everything to a consolidate pickup location. Not every polling site turned in their materials at the same time but usually by 9:30 pm the ballots and voting materials/equipment will be on their way to the Registrar of Voters. There, it will take some time for the ballot to be scanned/tabulated and the results released. Those would be processed around 11 or 12 pm.

Mail-in ballots dropped off at a polling site or at a dropoff box, the sealed envelope containing the ballot is scanned by a machine comparing it to the signature on the computer stored registered voter form. The ballots then have to be opened and run through the scanning/tabulating machine and that can take a couple of days. For mail-on ballots received after Tuesday, the same process will be used. Note, for ballots dropped off at the polling site, ballot dropoff box, or received in the mail on/after election day will be compared to the signed voter lists at the polls to ensure no one has voted twice.

that’s 11 EDT. Final results: certified county returns are due 30 days after the election.

This looks like it will be close for the top contenders in some races, so expect recounts in some contests

There is no rush to know the results until then.
