Related: About this forum***SUBJECT AND TIMELINE FOR THE AUGUST PHOTO CONTEST: WATER!***
Thank you all for the suggestions for a topic for this month's photo contest. Some of my favorites were "smile, and the world smiles with you,' wild animals, shadows, and water and multi-color combinations. I actually did pick a theme years ago called "critters of the wild."
I decided to choose a topic this time that would be easy for everyone to participate in.
The theme for the August contest, as suggested by Rebl2, is "Water, Lakes, ocean, ponds, rain storms, flooding. No water sports though." However, if your photo of body of water just happens to include someone fishing, swimming, etc. that would probably be acceptable, it just shouldn't be the primary focus of the photo.
I think everyone lives near the water in one form of another.
Here is a tentative timeline, subject to change.
Entries thread: August 13th
Preliminaries: August 20th.
Finals: August 24th.
Winners: August 28th.

(22,585 posts)I got carried away with "WATER"
I am now in the position of choosing my entry, and realize I can't wait. Who knew so much water sloshed in my files, and even how much water I photographed when on a recent trip to Iceland.
I was even thinking of doing what we used to do a long time ago, which is to run a poll to the photo group of "which should I enter".....
Looking forward to seeing what happens.
