Hey Peggy, remember the tree at your market....

That the group helped me identify? I have one in my garden. It's a New Zealand Christmas Bush Metrosideros kermadecensis and it has just started flowering yesterday. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metrosideros_kermadecensis

Right now only the East side has some flowers but the tree is laden with buds so it will be magnificent in a week or so. Here are pix of the east side and flowers in various stages of opening.
