"Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport" by Rolf Harris

First of all, if you clicked on this, congratulations! I hear we're getting a raise on our Social Security checks!

I'm posting the latest song I woke to playing in my head this morning.

It was 1963 when this song found its way to number 3 on the Billboard Chart in the US, featuring a digeridoo and a "wobble Board" that the Perth native invented. The song captured the ear of George Martin who rerecorded and produced the US version, including this rare version featuring The Beatles singing back up.

Harris was also an artist and painted the official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II for her 80th birthday.

After the Jimmy Savile sexual abuse scandal, Harris was arrested as part of the Operation Yewtree police investigation regarding historical allegations of sexual offences in 2013.[5] Harris denied any wrongdoing and was placed on trial in 2014. In July 2014, Harris was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison after being convicted on twelve counts of indecent assault on four female victims, who were between the ages of eight and nineteen at the time that the offences took place between the 1960s and 1980s. Following his conviction, he was stripped of many of his honours and re-runs of his television programmes were pulled from syndication.

I am so happy to learn I am not the only person who wakens w/ a tune circling the brain...

For years I was plagued by "We Built This City [on Rock + Roll]"... Jefferson Starship...
Lately, wake up tunes have covered a much wider variety of genres...

I stumbled into the living room and asked Alexa to play it for me. I knew it was going to be a good day.
I'm glad I'm not the only one either.

One verse was cancelled because it employed an unflattering term, and context, in referring to aboriginal Australians.
