(6,300 posts)I forgot about CTA's being so used to hearing the Steve Winwood versions.

This whole album is my favorite Chicago stuff. Other albums had great cuts, but this was solid gold.

(76 posts)I recently stumbled upon a vid of 25 or 6 to 4 from a live performance at Tanglewood in 1970.
I always thought that Terry Kath was a really good guitarist and had read he was very well respected by his peers, but after hearing this live performance...just wow. Of course, incredible technical facility, but the way the solo is structured is amazing. He had something to say and said it perfectly. It's not just a solo about showing off his chops, though he has technique out the wazoo.
If you haven't heard the live version, give it a listen.

(72,414 posts)...a bit older than me, who was a big Chicago fan.
I'm A Man was his favorite song because he used to see them in the clubs when they were still The Big Thing, and the song was their big jam/production number.
Same thing after they became CTA but before they broke big. He used to go from club to club to see them when they came back to Chicago to perform.
He was nuts about their version.

(64,916 posts)... album, "If I Had It To Do again, I'd Do It all Over You" is full of songs I just love. It's been on the tape deck/CD player of every car I've owned since '70. I still have an eight track. I have it on every format, vinyl, 8 track, cassette, hard drive, thumb drive .......
