The Beatles were always great song writers/musicians but Rubber Soul showed what geniuses they really were. Our crappy garage band relied on loud amplifiers to hide 'imperfections' ....until this album caused us to take clarity and execution seriously. Still working on it 55 years later.

I remember what at a shock it was at a talent night at the junior high school I went to in Akron. Four kids at school formed a band that played Hard Day's Night not six months after the film came out and it was good. It blew my mind that kids my age could make music. The band had a bit of success locally, the Lyme.

60 years later and I still remember it. My first live rock and roll.

Only Abbey Road tops it for me.
The 2 songs George wrote (Think For Yourself & If I Needed Someone) are so, so good.
