"Detroit Diesel" by Alvin Lee and friends

I love the driving beat on this cut and Lee's Gibson ES-335 (Big Red) comes on stronger than ever.

The drummer on this song is Bryson Graham from Spooky Tooth.
Steve Gould was late of Brit rockers Rare Bird where he handled vocals, played bass, and later rhythm guitar. He has songwriter credit for this one.
David Hubbard is a jazz sax player from various groups and sessions. Here he proves his worth on the bass, aiding in the song's thumping signature.
Jon Lord is of course nee of Deep Purple, the greatest Hammond B3 in the business. Here he puts up a talented fill that brings the melody home.

The album was recorded Space Studios, a UK residency recording studio built by Alvin Lee in the barn at Hookend Manor, a sprawling manor house which was first built in1580. The manor residency provided 14 bedrooms, a gym and in-house chef. It was later sold to David Gilmour and became the Pink Floyd "Den".
