I would never have predicted the ego explosions that came later.
BTW: Stevie Wonder wrote this song.

(2,966 posts)Stevie offered them, Chaka didn't like the first one. It was also the record company that decided to add Chaka Khan's name to Rufus, she didn't want to do that either

(72,416 posts)Just a little older than us, but not much. (We were still in HS when we first met them.)
They played a multi-act bill every Monday in the summer where I grew up. They played a couple times each summer, even after "Tell Me..." was a huge hit.
Circumstances resulted in us having backstage passes to every show for 4 or 5 summers, so we got to meet a lot of the bands from that era.
