?feature=sharedNothing Was Delivered
by Bob Dylan
Nothing was delivered
And I tell this truth to you
Not out of spite or anger
But simply 'cause it's true
Now you must provide some answers
For what you sell was not received
And the sooner you come up with them
Then the sooner you can leave
Nothing is better
Nothing is best
Take care of your health and get plenty of rest
Nothing was delivered
And it's up to you to say
Just what you had in mind
When you made everybody pay
Now I hope you won't object to this
Giving back all that you owe
But the sooner you come up with them
Then the sooner you can go
Nothing is better
Nothing is best
Take care of your health and get plenty of rest
No, nothing was delivered
I can't say I sympathise
With what your fate is going to be
Yes, for telling all those lies
No, nothing was delivered
Yes and someone must explain
That as long as it takes to do this
Then that's how long that you'll remain
Nothing is better
Nothing is best
Take care of your health and get plenty of rest

(52,916 posts)1. Gram Parsons was a great musician
and a real original. He basically created the country rock sound.

the sound further with the Flying Burrito Brothers and through his solo work. I think I have all of his solo LPs plus FBB's The Gilded Place of Sin. His duets with Emmylou Harris on "Love Hurts" (best version, IMO) and "Sleepless Nights" (both on the Sleepless Nights LP) are ethereal. I've been a big Gram fan for more than 50 years.

(52,916 posts)3. My sister heard him with Emmylou
and wanted a CD a few years ago as a Christmas gift. I was surprised since she was never into that sound and it turned out I was right when she wanted to give it to me a year later.
Her loss, my gain.
