and growing up, I always hated it. Why couldn't it be sparkly like a diamond; emerald; sapphire; ruby and all the other birthstones? It seemed so dull to me. One day I bit the bullet and bought an opal ring because I thought I should have something with my birthstone on it. I looked down at it on my finger and OMG! I was amazed. It had every color in it! From then on, I've loved it! Especially the blue and green ones.
