Two shots to get the party started. Now, a classic Whiskey Sour. Bourbon, or blended whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a marischino cherry. Yummy!
I have bourbon, but I decided to use my Johnny Walker Black Label. My first, and likely only, bottle of JW. I find it overrated. (And understrength. Less than 44abv
) Im just trying to use it up. Not a sippin whiskey; better for mixin.
The Whiskey Sour was my very first favorite cocktail. It still satisfies

(5,938 posts)A whiskey sour is such a tasty cocktail.
One of my first favorite cocktails was a Bacardi cocktail.
They are both so "old school".

(72,214 posts)I love an Old Fashioned, too. That is considered the ultimate conservative favorite cocktail. Im a far-left liberal, and I love a good Old Fashioned.
I should get a bottle of Bacardi. It has a higher abv than a lot of rums. Ill try it out in a Bacardi cocktail.

(6,290 posts)But I think it might be more properly called a whiskey flip. It was made in the blender with frozen OJ and lemon juice and ice and an egg (hence flip) and whatever whiskey or whisky he had on hand and some crushed ice. Sink a maraschino cherry in that in a champagne flute and your holiday morning was a happy place!

(6,290 posts)So, do you celebrate any other day but Friday?
And I am glad you are feeling better. Is your eye in the state to terrify children? (I had that once.)

(26,722 posts)As a young man, I usually only suffered 2 or 3 per year.
As someone now in his 50s, I'd say it's up to one every month or two.
Not a troubling number, but definitely on the rise compared to decades ago. Never crippling headaches, fortunately, pretty mild.
Enjoy your weekend, Aristus!

(72,214 posts)that lasts a few days, responds poorly to ibuprofen or Tylenol, and then goes away. When one sets in, its not even a question of being able to make it through a day of clinic; its about not even being able to get up get dressed, and drive to the clinic. Thats when I call out.
