Good news!

My labs are in and it turns out, I'm dehydrated. That in itself is an easy fix. Now, I wait for my other results and more doctor visits.

Thanks again for all of the love and concern.

You all mean more to me than I can ever say sufficiently.

RESIST!!

Well, maybe mostly non-alcoholic beverages, or you'll wind up on the floor again.

Be well!

I try to shoot for 8-10 8oz glasses of fluids a day. I also have cut my salt intake. I have a tendency to have kidney stones and it makes a real difference to drink fluids at this level. I haven't had a kidney stone in several years, (as she knocks on wood!) Stay hydrated and I hope you are feeling better soon.

So happy to hear it!

Labs are so important to finding the real causes of things. A friend thought she was dying and was preparing to go at age 93. She was both incontinent and incoherent. Her labs showed she had very low potassium. She lived another three happy years.

out.

I called for an ambulance, but stayed back at home. I'd been through so many emergencies with her (severe asthma when I was 5 1/2 yrs onward, and other occasional events, with one really terrifying one in my ?30s ), as she got better my dad started having problems. This was just the final straw of trauma.
.
I did set out after a crying bout around 1 1/2 hours later. Got chewed out by the doctor for not being there. Anyway they were afraid she'd had a massive stroke, and who knows how much she'd recover.
.
Had to call my sis for her to get a red-eye flight. I fell asleep, and my sister woke me saying she was awake,?and better and something or other like that. I burst into tears. My sis said - you're like, how you be if I told you bad news? Not a nice to say.

Went to meet the doctor who said - we rehydrated her, and she blossomed like a flower. [Wow!]
Hydration, and needed some electrolyte rebalancing, I think.

She lived another 10 - 12 yrs? Cogent, and creative. 🥰

Rehydrating will hopefully help make it easier to deal with any other issues.
Still praying for you!

it might take a few days to fully recover as the initial water will pass through while clearing any backlog of water soluble waste products. The way to re-hydrate and make it stick is to drink 6 or 7 ounces (just under a cup) each hour and right when you finish put a speck of salt on the back of the toungue. That little trick helps the body reset. The current recommendations are around 5 glasses a day. Eight was for soldiers in boot camp and is only needed if you are exerted or sweating a lot.

but I believe more fluid gets to where it should be in our body if the water is taken with a smidgen of electrolytes. Just a smidgen. Like "Gatorade" or a similar product diluted with just water in the proportion of one to one, or even a little more water. At that dilution, it doesn't have much flavor, but neither does plain water.

I have various allergies and once got myself released from the hospital with this. I had an allergic fever (I'm pretty sure that was a reaction to the strong chemicals hospitals use to disinfect everything - I wouldn't have it any other way, but I just can't take them), and they kept testing and testing and there was no infection (my white cell count was actually high.) I got my family to smuggle in an electrolyte drink - it was actually by Knudsen but I don't know whether they make it any more - and a couple of hours later I could literally feel the fever break. And it stayed gone. I got out the next day.

(Edited to add this after reading another comment) If you are interested in trying the pinch-of-salt thing, consider the "light" salt which combines sodium and potassium chlorides - the two electrolytes work better together for some.

I was extremely dizzy and thought I'd fall; I had to hold on to the wall.

In my case I suspect it was hypoglycemia. I'm on ozempic, but was still taking a type 2 diabetic medication. My doctor fitted me with a continuous glucose monitor. I noticed I was near the lower limits.

Hopefully yours is as easily addressed as mine; which involved discontinuing a med.
