The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI am rich right now. Far richer than Musk, Koch, and or Putin will ever be.
Despite some health problems, money problems, and not being able to work right now
I am sitting on my sofa with my yellow labs head is on my right leg, in my little house
and she is snoring. Money can give you many things but real wealth comes from the simple
things.
Oh BTW the glass of reisling is nice too.

(153,590 posts)Far richer than any of those people you mentioned. What you have is priceless!
Your contentment and the love of your yellow lab count for far more than cold, hard cash.
The glass of reisling doesn't hurt either.

(11,007 posts)We are in the exact same boat. Except my current lab, number 7, is black. And were watching the US National Women's Soccer team playing Brazil.
No commercials, no politics.
And mine is snoring as well.
Cheers to ya!

(10,156 posts)for having the wisdom to appreciate the simple and small pleasures in life. All those greedy a=holes you mentioned above - have you ever seen an unhappier bunch of whiners. They are all miserable down deep inside.
the pet-sleeping-on-the-sofa-with-you is INDEED one of those priceless "simple pleasures"

(754 posts)I've said it here before. When it's our time, no matter who we are the only thing we leave with are our memories and I wouldn't trade mine for all of the money in the world. I am my buddy's buddy our 15 yr old rescue schizu.
Cheers to you Botany

(10,058 posts)So is avoidance of the consumptive construct that passes for American culture these days.
Here's a couple of tunes to celebrate that simple prosperity.

(26,553 posts)I'm sure some of them are. But just seeing people like Musk and Trump, where all they seem to care about is how to score another win, and not really caring who they hurt, causes me to doubt their humanity.
Enjoy your day and your yellow Lab.
