the router wouldnt connect. so i turned the computer off and counted 10 seconds . restarted . badda boom . badda bing, we have internet.

I reboot it by unplugging it for 15 seconds and then plugging it back in. That always works.

(7,710 posts)4. That is my 'go to' when the router or modem starts acting up.
But then again, my IT friends freak out when I do this. Usually because they want to try 1000 different things that don't ever work due to being sure that they can 'fix'' it. (Spoiler, they usually end up doing my trick, but only after wasting hours trying to prove how amazing they are.)

I won't say it's once a week, because I don't remember it all the time, but it's a good idea.
Works for cell phones as well.
