Had to give up contacts for distance correction in my mid-40s when I started needing close-up correction. Correcting one eye for distance and one for close up seemed like I couldn't see anything well enough, and my eye doctor didn't think the weighted bifocal contacts would work for me.

Our cats would have to find a different toy if they wanted to play with my specs -

One of them loves Q-tips.

Mosby found an unshelled peanut on the floor in the sunroom, and has now been playing with it and carrying it around in her mouth like it's her kitten for a couple of days.

She would get one on the floor and bat it around for hours, or until it went under something where she couldn't get it. She would bat it down the stairs, go down and get it in her mouth, bring it back UPstairs, and then do it again! I sometimes called her my little hazel nut nut.

I think it may be because they see it as something foreign clinging to your face and they're going to rescue you....

But more likely it's because they know how to get your attention.

S/he's fixing them for you. Or attacking something that might obstruct your vision, or hide your pretty face.

And you have no say in the matter.
